Your card details are handled carefully so ordering stays safe. Here's what that means for you.
We don't store your card number
When you add a card, it goes straight from your browser or app into our payment provider's PCI compliant vault. Layout only gets back a token, which is a reference to a card we can't read. We don't store or log your actual card number, and it never reaches a log, a support tool, or an AI model.
The restaurant never sees your card
Layout pays the restaurant with a Layout virtual card, not yours. Your number is never typed into a restaurant's checkout, so no restaurant ends up holding it.
You approve the spending
Layout can only charge you for orders you confirm, and only inside the limits on your account. See How and when you're charged.
Extra verification, if you want it
Prefer to sign off on each order with a texted code? Turn it on in your settings anytime. New accounts confirm with one tap instead.
If your bank wants a word
Sometimes a card needs verifying with your bank before it can pay. If that happens, Layout says so and gives you one thing to do, on our own page. We never ask for a card number by email, chat, or phone. If anything claiming to be Layout asks you for a full card number, it isn't us.
Managing your cards
You can add or remove a card in your settings whenever you like. Removing a card stops it being used for future orders.
