How and when you're charged

When Layout charges you, your spending limits, and how totals are set.

Layout only charges you for orders you confirm. Here's how it works.

You confirm every order

Before any order goes through, Layout shows you the full total and waits for your yes. No confirm, no charge.

Your spending limits

You've got two safeguards on every order:

  • Daily limit. $50 by default. You can set it anywhere from $10 to $150 in your settings.

  • Spending pool. You approve up to $150 at a time in a single step. Your orders draw from it, and once it runs out, Layout asks you to approve a new one.

Both limits have to allow an order for it to go through.

How your total is set

Layout uses the restaurant's current prices when it builds your order, so your total reflects real items, taxes, and fees at that moment. You'll always see the total in the preview before you confirm.

Layout's ordering fee

On the free plan, Layout adds a small ordering fee on orders placed through your assistant. With Layout One, that fee is waived on unlimited orders. See What Layout One includes.

Once you confirm

Confirmed orders go straight to the restaurant and are final, so give the preview a quick look before you say yes.
